AND WHAT ROUGH BEAST, ITS HOUR COME ROUND AT LAST, SLOUCHES TOWARDS BETHLEHAM TO BE BORN?

Images from an exhibition from fashion label Prophetik, at The Rag Factory (off of Brick Lane, London). The clothes were why we were all there, but what really got my attention was the mannequins.

And for today's movie we have Divorce, Italian Style (Divorzio all'Italiana). This guy is unhappily married, and in love with another woman. BUT, it's traditional Italy and they are good Catholics - they can't split up. So, he decides he's got to kill his wife. The thing is..... it's HILLARIOUS. A "black comedy" they call it. In this video, he's at the beach with his wife and her parents, when he runs into the girl he's infatuated with. Have a look-see.

CWY

This blatantly had to make it onto my blog at some point...! Cab Calloway leading a big band while the Nicholas Brothers dance in Stormy Weather, starred in by Lena Horne. Absolutely, incredibly classic.

{The title, CWY is how you write "Cherokee" in the Cherokee language. Written Cherokee is "syllabary", which basically means that each character represents a syllable. So, "TSA-LA-GHEE" (the word "Cherokee" in Cherokee) has three syllables, so it only needs 3 letters - CWY. Sequoyah invented the written Cherokee language all by himself. Smart man. Here's what the whole alphabet looks like:

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

28 Days Later was a film that both introduced me to the work of Cillian Murphy and cemented my desire to live in London. An interesting fact, since 1. At the time I was living in Paris, from which most people don't want to move 2. It's a movie about the last survivors of a zombie apocalypse.

UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE MAD LOCOMOTIVE RIVERBANK SUNSET FRISCO HILLY TINCAN EVENING SIT-DOWN VISION

I love earrings but I have a habit of always losing them. I will go out, come home and realise only one of my earrings made it home with me :((((((( I can get very emotional when I realise half of a beloved set has departed forever and I'll never wear those earrings again.

However (woo hoo) Forever21 (one of my favourite US stores) has finally waded across the pond and come to my rescue. It's constantly restocking loads of lovely pairs of earrings for very cheap, and there's never a problem with their not fitting. Just see for yourself.

I'M SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY

My favorite song from the late great Janis Joplin. (...favourite? I keep mispronouncing and misspelling words and not remembering whether it's English or American. The other day I kept staring at my mascara going "Mas-SCARE-ah? Mas-CARH-ah?" All this pressure...)

AND IT GOES A LITTLE SOMETHING LIKE THIS ...

Went to the Mick Jagger exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery yesterday and really liked a lot of the Rolling Stones' album art.

TALES OF ORDINARY MADNESS

"The free soul is rare, but you know it when you see it - basically because you feel good, very good, when you are near or with them." -Charles Bukowski, Tales of Ordinary Madness
