CHIC ME
My dear Sugar Daddy,
Here are some products I'm going to buy myself. ;-)
Lola Re xoxo
YSL BABY DOLL EAU DE TOILETTE
I've been searching for a citrusy scent for a while to add to my collection and this one is perfect. It smells like sweet grapefruit mixed with gentle floral undercurrents. I'll probably layer it with my Stella McCartney, which is a classic scent I always have in my collection.

KOSE MEDICATED SEKKISEI HERBAL ESTHETIC
This mask/massage cream contains 10 Chinese herbs which help to even out skin tone as well as soften and condition the skin. I've heard a lot of great things about Kose, so I'm excited to try this Japanese skincare brand.
SHISEIDO TSUBAKI CONDITIONER FOR DRY OR DAMAGED HAIR
With Japanese camelia oil, this rich conditioner is perfect for my dry hair. I want to use it for conditioner washes and to smooth the ends of my hair during styling. It smells yummy, too. :o)
What are you going to treat yourself with?

YouTube Loves Me
I've found the most incredible channel on YouTube! It's the personal tutorial channel of the Korean makeup artist Jung Saem Mool. She's worked with all the top Korean stars like BoA and Kim Tae Hee. I love Korean makeup because of its emphasis on clear, glowing, flawless skin. It's a very clean, fresh look and I wanted to share it with all of you. :o) Here's just one example of her videos of "macabre" makeup.
I've started my own YouTube channel for the blog. Now, you guys can go and visit my favourite vloggers on hair, makeup, skincare, and fashion. Jung Saem Mool is definitely one of them!

SPOTLIGHT ON: OLE HENRIKSEN
I don't know if you all have noticed, but I'm very into skincare! :oP
Another of my favorite companies is Ole Henriksen. Originally from Denmark, Ole now resides in the USA and is the skincare guru to many lovely complexioned people.
Let me speak from my own personal experience and show you my three favorite Ole products. They are called the Three Little Wonders, and they are suitable for everyone's skin. Read on, dear crickets!
Truth Serum:
This vitamin C serum brightens, smooths, and corrects/prevents signs of aging. It also has moisture binders which penetrate the skin. I really love this product :o)

Sheer Transformation Creme
This lightweight cream fights discoloration and fine lines. You use it over truth serum in the morning and over the night gel in the evening. Very good product!

Invigorating Night Gel
I saved the best for last! I LOVE this night cream so much! I sometimes wear it during the day :oP I love AHAs, and this gel uses them to smooth fine lines, even skin tone, and smooth your skin texture. When I put this on at night, my skin glows the next day! Definitely a skin staple.

SPOTLIGHT ON: MARIO BADESCU
I found an interview with Iman in Lucky Magazine one dreary November day, and I friggin hit the roof. Why? She was taking the beauty editors shopping with her!
Iman has always said that her secret to looking polished and youthful lies in taking great care of her skin. So, I was truly excited to see what products she uses.
If you don't remember, Iman looks like this:

Imagine my surprise when she said that for the past 20 years, she's used a simple cleanser from Mario Badescu.
Enzyme Cleansing Gel
At $12.00 for 8 Ounces, this stuff is definitely a better deal that most high end cleansers. I ordered from Mario Badescu online and got several samples along with my purchase.
This gel smells like cucumbers and contains Papaya and Grapefruit Extracts to provide gentle AHA exfoliation of the skin. This means that the cleanser helps to rejuvenate your skin and keep your pores clean. If you are like me and you have combination/oily skin, this is a great choice. If you have dry skin, I would probably recommend a more moisturizing formula. It's an adjustment to get used to using a gel that doesn't foam, but it's one of Mario Badescu's best-selling cleansers for a reason. It's my staple, especially in the summer.
Mario Badescu is another company (along with Japanese brand DHC) that uses very simple packaging, and does not use large marketing campaigns for publicity. The products can be of a higher quality because of these cost-saving measures.
Another staple I've found is the A.H.A Botanical Body Soap

It's got my favorite Papaya and Grapefruit extracts, as well as Ginseng and Oat protein to condition your skin. I love it!
As you can see, I love AHA acids, and the gentle chemical exfoliation they provide. They break down dead skin, and leave you smooth and glowing. If you prefer more emollient, moisturizing formulas or you have very dry skin, I would probably try different products than the ones I've listed here. Check out www.mariobadescu.com to find products suitable for your skintype as recommended by their lovely consultants!
Thanks Iman! Thanks, Lucky Magazine!

SPOTLIGHT ON: DHC
I LOVE DHC!!! This company is one of the most popular skin care companies in Japan. They save money by not selling in stores (no overhead) and by having very simple packaging. So, all the funds go into the skin care products, which are excellent and totally affordable. Here are my favorite products from DHC so far:
Deep cleansing oil:
This is a lovely lovely makeup remover. I use a separate eye makeup remover, but this gets everything off, I just use that for fun :0P. Start with a dry face with makeup on, apply two pumps of the cleansing oil, massage into skin, and rinse off with warm water. Clean soft face!! The oil emulsifies and rinses clean when it mixes with the water. It's my first cleansing oil and I love it :0). It's good for all skin types and cheap too -- only $11 for a small bottle.

Coenzyme Q10 Cream: Here's what they say about Q10 on the website-- "Coenzyme Q10, nicknamed “vitamin Q,” functions as a powerful antioxidant, protecting cells from free radicals. Due to the small size of the molecule, coenzyme Q10 can effectively penetrate skin and help fortify its natural defenses." I just know a lot of people love it and it makes my skin look good. :0)

Acerola 100 Booster: This is a lovely lovely lovely product! I love it so much I can't really say. Acerola is a tropical berry that's a powerful natural source of vitamin C (32 times as much as oranges). I use this booster after cleansing and before toning. It evens out my skin tone and makes my skin look more luminous. It's one of those products you use that eliminates the need for foundation. Again, super cheap. It's on sale for $16.50 at the moment until March 31st, 2009.

These are a few of my favorites from DHC, but I definitely want to try more. Their products are of a very high quality, and priced really well. Also, they don't use artificial fragrances which is super important to someone like me with sensitive skin. Look into it!

SPOTLIGHT ON: LIZ EARLE
One of my favorite cleansers on earth is from Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare. It's called the Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.
So how do you use it?! Well, you start with dry skin (some might like to use a makeup remover beforehand). You spread the cream over your face-- it's gentle enough for you to use on your eyes as well. Then, you take a pure muslin cloth and dip it in very warm water (not boiling, just very warm to your hand). Rub the cloth gently over your face, removing the cleanser and follow up with a splash of cool water. It removes all of your makeup, cleanses your face, and makes your skin incredibly soft!!! I love it because it's great for all skin types. I have combination skin, and my skin feels perfectly balanced after I use this cleanser-- not oily OR dry... I don't know how they do it! :o) I really like the creamy consistency of this cleanser in winter.

I've also used their Instant Boost Skin Tonic, which is lovely. It does not contain any alcohol, but it does have calendula, organic aloe vera, vitamin e, cucumber and rose-scented geranium. I love it-- it makes my combination skin feel very balanced and completely comfortable.

I used to get it when it was only sold at Brown's in London ( I can't believe I used to shop at Brown's lol! I had no idea what a big deal it was), but now it's available in many more locations. you can even buy it on the website (UK or USA), or on the Home Shopping Network.
Love!

SPOTLIGHT ON: AYURA COSMETICS
Ayura Cosmetics is a Japanese cosmetics company that has a holistic
body care. I think it's so cool, here is what they have to say on their website:
"Ayura is designed to promote the flows of 'Qi', 'Xue', and 'Jin' to generate problem-free skin filled with vitality.... It regulates the skin balance that changes constantly and is different in each individual."
So, they have a skin care section with makeup removers, cleansers, primers, lotions, serums, gels, creams, masks and sunscreens, etc.
They have a fragrance that I really want to try that is supposed to be one of the most popular in Japan. It's called Spirit of Ayura. There's a pic and a fragrance breakdown below:
