HEADFIRST
Stunning artwork here from Goldfrapp's latest release Headfirst. I literally stood and looked at it for ages in the tube. I'm sure people were wondering what was going on with the girl just standing still on the platform while everyone else was rushing towards someplace. The music so far is quite nice too.

THE COLLECTIVE FASHION UNCONSCIOUSNESS
Someone at Vogue Paris and I are PRETTY much on the same page. This is quite comforting to know.
I mean look! It's it's soft florals, it's fringed acessories, it's jumpsuits and suede boots. It's North Africa and my sis Neva is in Egypt. It's basically Boom 2010.
I got the title quote from a Kate Moss interview, in which she says she believes the members of the fashion world share a collective unconsciousness. I'm inclined to agree.

DARLING SEA SERPENTS
I'm going to change my hair again. I want straight black hair, maybe something more like Thandie Newton's long layers. Nice ain't it?
[This post's title is the amalgamation of two Babeshadow songs. I went to one of their gigs in Shoreditch on Friday and I think they're my favourite band right now. If you're going to see Florence and the Machine's gigs in the next few months they'll be supporting. I was talking to the drummer about how much I love Babeshadow for like 10 minutes then he was like... "You know I'm IN the band right?" lol oops. Got to babeshadow.com to listen]

RIGHT BEHIND YOU, I SEE THE MILLIONS. ON YOU, I SEE THE GLORY. FROM YOU, I GET OPINIONS. FROM YOU, I GET THE STORY.
REET PETITE
Today's inspiration comes from Jackie Wilson. Look at all that attitude. Good album too. I bet Outkast's Hey Ya was inspired by songs like Work Out.

I WANNA SEE YOU IN THE LIGHT OF THE MORNING, HEY
The latest in my Polyvore creations. I went to a St. Patrick's Day party on Fri, and I was talking to my good friend about how long it takes me to get ready. When I told him it took me an hour he was like !!!! 'What!? I would have thought it takes you a lot less.' lololol. That inspired this set, which I've dubbed, 'Leave me alone, I'm comfortable.' Love.

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT
You guys know I am really into Korean pop culture and streetstyle. The group 2NE1 just came out with a fire music video for their new song, Follow Me, and I lurve it. I think this is cool (Neva calls it teenybopping music!) because of their dancing and style, true, but mostly because its cheerful and fun. :o) Yay.

LOLA RE S/S 2010: NO HATS ON THE BED
I'm thinking sheer. I'm thinking backless. I'm thinking short. Not all in the same outfit of course. But that's how I'm going to reinterpret the 60s to something that's more appropriate for us ladies with T&A.
It came to me the other day, when I thought, well it's got to be Heather Graham in Drugstore Cowboy.
Heather Graham is obviously quite the sex kitten, but she's been cast in 60s-era films like Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
(sheer-ish dress, but that film won't be discussed here I'm afraid). She also played the pants off of Nadine in Drugstore Cowboy, aided only by her hair, makeup and wardrobe (also 'secondarily' supported by the director, cast and crew). These included:
Colourful, oversized cropped tops
Tiny denim cutoffs
Big bouncy, sexy hair
A colourful and soft pallete of clours
And fresh makeup complete with big doe eyes
To that equation, I'm going to add thigh high boots, sheer fabrics, backless tops, and generally tiny hemlines, to create the look I have in mind.
So, now and only now that I have MY overall direction and inspiration, I'm ready to take a look at what Fashion Month (the Holy Holidays) had to offer, and see who/where I can collaborate with on this front. Nice. :o)
As for the title... watch the movie.
