GET IT

I love this Swedish outfit.

Photobucket

It reminds me of Sophia Coppola (yes its her) in the Black Crowes' video Sometimes Salvation. How perfect is it?! What more they do want from me?!?!

Did you get the real good one? Did you get the GOOD ONE?!

Photobucket

On Friday night, I went along to the sample sale of the incredible British brand Good One. Even Skin was there! (she's on the far right next to Grace Jones in the linked pic. Unfortunately, no photos were allowed of her while trying on clothes, sigh!)

I found the studio in Hackney

walked in

...and chatted with the nicest designer Nin, who I'd met at London Fashion Week's On/Off. (we'd talked a lot about roadkill, don't ask!)
Photobucket

She offered me a glass of wine, and I oohed and aahed over the clothes while snapping pics and asking her questions (I officially ONLY want to shop at private sample sales now lolol). I asked her the very obvious "What was your inspiration?" and she just laughed and said, "I want to make pretty clothes! It's that simple, really!" I loved her honesty!

One really cool thing they do, besides recycling materials to create new clothing, is they can custom-make you a dress in any size using colors you select from their stock. Here are the fabric choices!!!!!!

More beautiful clothes (I bought the dress in the center):

Blurry shot of me in the beautiful clothes (sigh, I'll get the hang of it someday soon):

If you want to go to their sample sales and events, go to their website and sign up for the mailing list. It's definitely a great experience, much better than some crowded shop with no wine!!!! lol They've also got a mini-collection available now on Asos if you aren't in the London area. I really love the leggings. I'll definitely post pics of myself in my new dressssssssss!

Thanks again for the invite, Nin! Ladies, remember this name!

Nick Night SHOWstudio @ Somerset House

As I'm sure many of you know, photographer Nick Night has got a seriously good thing going on his website.

If you follow SHOWStudio, you know that it's a digital fashion platform that allows Mr. Night to reach fashionistas around the globe with his photographs, videos and interviews.

WELL! Now, SHOWStudio is holding a continuous three month exhibition of live photoshoots that are open to the public. The photographs that result will be added to a gallery nearby, and so the exhibition will grow as the event goes along. You should definitely check it out, I think it will be amazing, and at the photoshoot tomorrow, Pat McGrath is doing the makeup!!!!

see you there,

Sparks & Miele Charity Fashion Show

Photobucket

Now, this was a fashion event to remember!

Photobucket

I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Sparks Fashion Show, which was sponsored by Sparks UK and Miele. This event brought like-minded people together to help raise money for children's medical research. Let me tell you about my night!

Imagine my surprise when I realised I was seated next to Sparks co-presidents Kenny and Gabby Logan... :O They were very sweet and told me a lot about Sparks as a charity and the work they do. He's a retired rugby player, and she's a TV presenter of Strictly Come Dancing fame, so I applaud how they use their time to help others.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Of course, we bloggers were there en masse and en force! I got to re-connect with the masterminds behind StyleSlicker and DressedandPressed. It was great to see them :o)

PhotobucketPhotobucket

We ate, talked, laughed, and participated in the fundraising. Then... the catwalk began. It featured a mix of models and celebrities just having fun and of course, staying fierce and werking their fire. Observe:

I don't know if you can see from the pics, but we were having fun. :oP The evening was really put into focus when we gave the catwalk over to a little girl who suffers with arthritis. Children like her are exactly the reason we came together to give, so of COURSE she had to strut.

:o)

And if that weren't enough, we revealed the winner of the Miele Fashion Prize. Miele challenged young designers to come up with a design inspired by garment care. Here's the winner, Nathan:

And here's his gorgeous dress, which was made by Jasper Garvida.

The finale!

The night was a great success, and we managed to raise over £40,000 for charity. Now that's stylish! Special thanks to Miele and Sparks UK for the invitation to come along, and for allowing me to take part in giving back.

P.S.: All pics by.... me!!!! I forgot to snap what I wore that night, though doh... lol I'm adjusting to being both behind and in front of the camera. woo see you later!

Azzaro Spring 2010 RTW

This collection to me had Bianca Jagger written all over it.

Maybe it was the 70s vibe, maybe it was the dark-haired model, but I loved it all! Take a look...

Rochas Spring 2010 RTW

Charming! French style is my favourite after Scandinavian, and Rochas ladies look individual and put together at once. The idea for Marco Zanini's collection was a very French woman who lives in a tropical climate. So, lots of slip dresses, knits and tailoring in bright colors.
