Designer Spotlight: Religion

I LOVE religion. :o) I'm discovering so many cool local designers here in London! Religion is based in East London and is sold in Topshop. You can also buy it online at Asos. Their website says they focus on "cut out styles, washed out graphics and destroyed fabrics" which is what I'm all about these days-- look into it y'all!

Designer Spotlight: We Walk

I love this t-shirt fashion label. It's based in London, Paris, Australia and New York. The prints are striking and cool, and I love the detailing. It's a t-shirt, but there's something sexy about the way it's cut to make it sexy. Check it out guys, their website is www.wewalk.com.

Still Hereee

Hello beetles,

I'm still here! I've just begun work which I'm very excited about, but here are some of the things I have in mind for Lola Re:

I'm gonna get a digital camera woo hoo! That way you can see pics of outfits I am wearing each day.

I am going to start sorting through fashion week photos so we can take a look at what works, what's wearable, how to wear it, and with what!

Finally, I want to do a series on how to dress if you have a real body! What designers don't always think about and how we can emphasize what looks best on us :o)

I thought I'd shake things up by including a designer I've actually worked with. :oP

Anika Skarstrom is a Swedish designer living in Paris, and she was kind enough to welcome me to Paris one summer to do an internship with her.

Her label, ANIKALENASKARSTROM, is catered to an independent, strong-minded urban woman. She loves details like buckles, ink stamps and masculine edges. I learned so much working with her! Check out some of my favorite looks from her Modesty Blaise collection below:

Haider Ackermann Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear

It's hard for me to pinpoint exactly what I love about this collection-- the shapes, the colors, the silhouette, nothing is in-your-face different. But it's all got SOMETHING that is undeniably lovely, and makes me want to see more. You know that feeling you get when you see a woman who is wearing exactly what expresses who she is, and she's comfortable in her own skin? Here it is. Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.
