EMBRACE THE BOOM
I was having a conversation with my sister Neva yesterday about the periods in fashion that inspire me. Of course, these include the 60s and the 90s... And the cultures that inspire me... which include Korean, Japanese and Scandinavian. Now, all these cultures and periods of time seem to be dominated by a waifish, girlish aesthetic that, while I can appreciate, I do not share! As various men on the London streets like to remind me, I am a curvy girl. Unfortunately that isn't what I WANT to look like. Neva, who is wise beyond her years said to me... 'Lola, you're just going to have to embrace all that BOOM you have.'
So here goes. I haven't really taken a look at the shows from Fashion Month (or as I like to call them, the Holy Holidays) because I wanted to look at them with an eye for what I wanted out of this season. What's my direction? What do I want to express?? Well, this season I'm going to try a little experiment. What would happen if I tried to combine the healthy bodies of the 50s with the aesthetic and mood of the 60s? Would that even WORK? I figure Spring/Summer 2010 is the perfect time to find out...

BEST OF STOCKHOLM AND COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEKS
YES! I am behind. But, I'll get there. Let's take it back to Stockholm and Copenhagen shall we... Here are my favourites. (I've decided to only review Stockholm, Copenhagen, London and Paris this season, as these are the cities that really inspire me!) yumm-yumm

THIS IS A GOODONE
Goodone were in full effect at this season's London Fashion Week ON|OFF, and I was excited to see what Nin and her team have dreamed up for Autumn/Winter 10/11. I wasn't disappointed.
Need I remind you that Goodone is an eco-friendly label using hand-worked patterns and reworked fabrics that might otherwise be wasted. I love it so much.. how is it that body consious and environmentally consious come together SOO well???
